It all started with Father and Son team; Derek & Mark Burton. Derek was a joiner by trade, worked installing windows and kitchens, while son Mark studied as a pupil of Brackenhoe School, Marton.

Derek and Mark had been working as a team as soon as Mark was old enough to pass his Dad a hammer, not work shy, Mark would help Derek out on weekends, after school and in his school holidays.

Over the next couple of years the business saw a steady growth, in 1991 Derek & Mark bought their first Factory Premise in the Longbeck Trading estate, Marske, after the birth of Marks first daughter Jade (Now 25 and member of the Marton Windows Admin Team alongside her Aunty Lindsey - Marks Sister).

Slowly throughout the years Mark and Derek, eventually expanded and employed family members and close friends for help and together built a strong customer base. Gradually expanding throughout the years, the company Now employs a whopping 40+ staff and still to this day sees yearly growths.

How a Father & Son Team Went From Window Fitters to Entrepeneurs

Marton Windows, a family run Teesside based company open for business since 1987, employs over 40+ staff and has acquired a large customer base!  But this family run business wasn't always the successful company it is today, it began and grew with humble beginnings in Marton middlesbrough.

As soon as Mark left school, he went straight into a job, working as a sub-contracted window fitter for other firms, whilst working alongside Derek on weekends and bank holidays.

After a couple of years, Mark and Derek's weekend customer base started growing,  they found customers coming back for more work, getting recommended to friends & family and ultimately the work-load meant risking their full-time employment to pursue their own business.

In 1987 after two years of being a two-person team they employed their first employee Darren and began their own window manufacturing, this was the 'official' Start for Marton Windows.

Marton Windows is constantly growing year after year, and soon to be approaching it's 30 year anniversary! It's amazing what a Father and Son team have accomplished with hard work and a passion for creating quality products! Still Based in Longbeck Trading estate after moving to a couple of larger units, it now showcases a huge range of conservatories, windows, doors and home improvements, as well as having its own manufacturing factory around the back, which customers can come and see their installations being made!

Mark is still a active member of staff after Derek's retirement in 2015, alongside his Sister Lindsey, Her husband and son, Justin and Jordan, and Marks Daughter Jade. Still determined to keep the company true to its family based roots, Marton windows hopes to grow and expand year after year and believe with hard work and quality service this goal is more than achievable!
